Eileen McGarry
Executive Director

Eileen provides the vision and leadership for the Career Services office at UNLV. She has led Career Services since 1990 and has more than 25 years administering programs that facilitate student retention and career success. Eileen spends time outreaching employers, developing new career services initiatives, and providing support and guidance to others.


Amanda Cox
Assistant Director, Career Development

Amanda joined the Career Services Office in 2002 and coordinates internal outreach efforts to the university. She oversees and conducts presentations, workshops, and information tables across campus. She provides supervision and leadership for the center s graduate assistants, interns and student ambassadors. She coordinates resources for students in the early stages of and throughout the career development process. Amanda successfully engages with first-year success courses, and is the primary liaison to the Liberal Arts, Education, Urban Affairs colleges and the Academic Success Center.


Paul Carpino
Employer Outreach & Internship Coordinator

Paul works with employers and faculty to develop and coordinate career experience opportunities for students. Through his programs and outreach, he develops and strengthens communication with and between employers, students, alumni, career services peers, and faculty. Paul's creative marketing and outreach efforts expand employer involvement; increase new employment / experiential learning opportunities for students and alumni; and enhance fundraising / sponsorship initiatives in Career Services. Paul is a UNLV Alumna, Hotel College Class of '74.


Randy Pearson
Recruitment Manager

Randy coordinates employer recruitment activities for the office, which include: developing and maintaining a premier employer recruitment database through UNLV CareerLink on-line career management system. This program serves as a key for students to access on-campus recruiting, job and internship postings, resume referral to quality employers. Randy also coordinates career fairs, employer presentations and special events and makes sure employers have a positive experience at UNLV.


Don Snyder

Don provides all currently enrolled students and alumni individual assistance in defining career options, developing employment skills, and learning job search strategies. He is instrumental in the outreach efforts of the office by facilitating various programs, presentations, and information tables throughout campus. He is the primary liaison to the Colleges of Engineering and Sciences and the Division of Health Sciences. Don writes the Career Services newsletter, which is distributed to faculty and staff, and also manages the Career Resource Center.


Katharine Johnson
Career Counselor

Katharine provides all currently enrolled students and alumni individual assistance in defining career options, developing employment skills, and learning job search strategies. She is instrumental in the outreach efforts of the office by facilitating various workshops, presentations and information tables throughout campus. In addition to serving as the primary liaison to the Harrah Hotel College and the College of Business, Katharine helps coordinate student marketing for Career Services programs and services.


Toni Lee
Office Manager

Toni oversees all of the administrative functions of the office to ensure a student centered environment and efficient services. Toni also works directly with the Executive Director and Recruitment Manager to support the employer activities of the office.

 

 


Bobbie Barnes
Director of Career Services, William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration

Bobbie provides leadership for this satellite career center in a location convenient to Hotel College students. She works to strengthen relations with hospitality recruiters as well as educating and assisting students preparing to enter the industry and connect with employers. Bobbie is a UNLV Alumni of the Hotel College and brings extensive industry experience.



Jacob Livengood
Program Coordinator, William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration

Jacob.livengood@unlv.edu
Jake works with College of Hotel Administration students in developing job search tools and strategies from a solid foundation of career development, and assists the Director with Career Services’ marketing efforts and linkage with employers. Jake has a Master of Social Work from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and is currently a doctoral student in Higher Education Leadership at UNLV.
