Surviving a Challenging Job Market I've heard that the government is experiencing more hiring activity than other areas. What are the differences in working in the public sector versus the private sector. Public service, it calls for a dedication and a willingness to accept a certain amount of traditional, more, perhaps more rigor in the employment situation than the private sector enjoys. The private sector has more freedoms, more, perhaps flexibility to recognize individual achievement than many times a public sector employer might have. Not that we're lacking in innovation and things of that nature. However, the private enterprise is able to be a lot more nimble on its feet and to recognize individual achievement and individual effort. Whereas someone that's looking for a lot of personal satisfaction in what the outcome of their service is. Helping large groups of, in many times, disadvantaged circumstances or people needing public service for one reason or another because they lack something in order to get it in another format. It's the huge satisfaction of public service kind of offsets the lack of personal gain opportunities.
